In all of the countries my family has lived in and traveled to, we've collected books. After settling in Fuchu, Tokyo, in 2004 my daughter and I had our first Book Ideas event in the Momijigaoka Bunka Center in August 2006, as a way to share our books with the public. Since July 2015, Book Ideas has a permanent home at Momijigaoka 1-38-9.
Book Ideas is a non-profit lending library registered with Fuchu City Office in outer Tokyo. We also hope to add a cafe in the not-too-distant future!
What do we offer?

We have books for kids, young adults, and adults; books about other countries; wildlife and plants; religion and spirituality; maps and guide books; comics; fairy and folk tales; poetry - And yet more books, available on request from our collection at home: including books about plants, particularly cacti and succulents; disability studies; education and psychology; literature from Germany; English-language fiction; fairy and folk tales; mystery stories - Magazines, newspapers, tapes, DVDs, and games - Quiet corners to sit and read... - And areas to chat with friends and other guests - Special holiday events, including Easter egg painting, Halloween, and Christmas celebrations - Presentations on a variety of topics
Where are we?
In the past we have used the Momijigaoka Bunka Center, but also Café Slow, Momijigaoka Community Hall, and a rental space in an apartment building as temporary venues.
